Our inaugural Catholic Artist Network gathering was held on Saturday, January 14th at the parish hall of Our Lady of Lourdes in University City. The gathering consisted of short presentations by a number of local Catholic artists and a potluck lunch. The artists all gave terrific presentations. Everyone had the opportunity to network and meet the artists over lunch and after the official closing.
These artists were featured:Simeon describes himself as a 21st century digital music designer. In the late 70’s, he programmed analog synthesizers but now he layers virtual machines to create unique timbres. He'll be sharing some sounds and the processes he uses to achieve them.
Riley Root is a native of St. Louis. She studied classical figurative and portrait sculpture in Florence, Italy. Her classical approach is fortified by Christian Symbology studies and the beautiful teachings of St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body.

Expressed in rhyme in meter, Billy's poems are characterized by "parrhesia" (boldness of speech) and a strong Catholic witness. He describes his poetry as his ministry, and declares, "If they inspire you, then the blessing is mutual!"

Connor Stinehart is a singer and songwriter who plays at Mass, on retreats and at special events. He currently leads worship at Ascension in Chesterfield and Epiphany Of Our Lord, plays bass in the Kyle Huelsing Band for Steubenville, and joins his wife in an acoustic cover duo called Connor and Rachel.

Maria is the President and Artistic Director of G.K. Chesterton Entertainment, a non-profit Catholic entertainment company. Recent projects include “The Last Days” starring Jonathan Roumie as Jesus and Maria as the Blessed Mother and “Momenta Sacra” a short film series on the lives of the saints. Maria also played St. Faustina in a one-woman show for over 300 performances.

Fr. Stephen Schumacher is a priest for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. In Seminary, he was head of the Schola for 3 years. Now as a priest, he loves adorning the liturgy with beauty, especially through Sacred Polyphony and the celebration of the Rorate Mass. He'll be speaking about how sacred chant can be an antidote to the individualism present in society.
A man behind the scenes, Jay's been mixing classic as well as modern mediums of art to captivate audiences on social platforms since 2003. Come discover how harmonious the different art forms can be.
After converting to Catholicism, Hailey spent 5 years at a Passionist convent, before discerning out. These experiences inspired her most recent publication, Passion Flowers in Bloom. This collection of poetry and illustrations is available through Mater Media.
